In the world of Erasmus+, there are a number of programmes to promote mobility for students, doctoral candidates, researchers, teachers and employees. Here you will find all the Erasmus+ options available at Humboldt-Universität.

The Erasmus+ programme has a variety of offers that enable mobility. Offers marked as Erasmus+ Programme Countries refer to all EU member states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey. We also call this programme Erasmus+ Europe.

Offers marked as Erasmus+ partner countries refer to most countries that are not part of the Erasmus+ Programme Countries. We also call this programme Erasmus+ worldwide.

Erasmus+ at a glance

The current Erasmus+ programme generation runs from 2021 to 2027. Humboldt-Universität continues to participate in the programme. For its implementation of the goals and quality criteria of the programme, the university was once again awarded the ERASMUS Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for this generation of the programme. The ECHE and the European Policy Statement are part of HU’s international profile.

The overarching themes of the programme generation are social participation, sustainability, social engagement, as well as the digitisation of learning, teaching and administration. We have compiled more detailed information about the goals of the Erasmus+ programme for you on our website.

The Erasmus+ programme offers universities a wide range of opportunities to support internationalisation, both through individual mobility activities and through the establishment and implementation of joint strategic partnerships and cooperation projects. Erasmus+ offers various tools and programme lines.

Stays abroad for students continue to be a core element of the programme. Erasmus+ offers a variety of opportunities at all levels of study in Key Action 1. Whether it's a semester stay at one of our partner universities, an internship in a company, a short research phase to prepare your final thesis, or attending a blended intensive programme – find the format that suits you.

Doctoral candidates can complete both short-term stays and well-known long-term mobility periods. The programme therefore offers this target group a great deal of flexibility for individualised activities. Carrying out mobilities in a blended format, i.e. combining a shorter physical mobility period with a virtual component, is also possible in different formats.

For HU employees, Erasmus+ offers funding opportunities for further education and training, and for academic staff it also offers support for short teaching stays at a partner university.

In Key Action 2, Erasmus+ promotes the development and implementation of cooperation projects, international master's degree programmes, the establishment of EU-related teaching and research at universities, and other overarching measures and projects in the European context and in global cooperation. On the DAAD National Agency website you will find detailed information about possible projects, application procedures and monitoring of ongoing projects.       Erasmus+ Partner Countries offers grants for partner institutions outside the EU. In addition to the main target group of doctoral students, bachelor’s and master’s students can also be funded in various formats.
